The 12th edition of Green Week, the biggest annual conference on European environment policy, will take place from 22 to 25 May 2012 in Brussels.

Photo Exhibition "Wild Wonders of Europe"

In summer 2012, the Federal Environment Ministry in Berlin is presenting the outdoor exhibition "Wild Wonders of Europe", which comprises 110 spectacular and unforgettable European nature photographs. It highlights the surprisingly exotic, multi-facetted and fascinating treasures of nature on our continent.
The goal of the exhibition is to raise the visitors' awareness of the value and the delicate balance of nature. Informative captions and topical documentation on biological diversity will complement the exhibition and Federal Environment Ministry staff will answer questions in an information pavilion.

World Day to Combat Desertification
The World Day to Combat Desertification is observed every year on 17 June. The World Day to Combat Desertification has been observed since 1995 to promote public awareness relating to international cooperation to combat desertification and the effects of drought, and the implementation of the UNCCD.

The World Water Week has been the annual focal point for the globe's water issues since 1991. It is hosted and organised by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and takes place each year in Stockholm.

International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer
On 19 December 1994, the United Nations General Assembly UN General Assemblyproclaimed 16 September the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, commemorating the date, in 1987, on which the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer was signed.
