Wadden Sea now World Natural Heritage site
UNESCO's World Heritage Committee has decided today to inscribe the German-Dutch Wadden Sea on the World Heritage List. The Wadden Sea is one of the largest wetlands worldwide and a wintering area for ten to twelve million migrating birds every year. It is also an extraordinarily dynamic nature area. [

Federal Environment Ministry advocates sustainable fisheries
The staff-canteen of the Federal Environment Ministry in Bonn is the first in Germany to be able to offer fish dishes featuring the MSC label. The Marine Stewardship Council is an independent non-profit making institution which developed an environmental standard for the assessment and labelling of fisheries. Consumers will be able to identify fish products from certified businesses. [
